Sarah recently interviewed Gary Vaynerchuk, author of Crush It for Professional Photographer Magazine. If you haven’t heard of Gary Vee, he’s taken the social media world by storm. Owner of a wine store and prolific video blogger, Gary has been at the forefront of social media marketing and his tips can help you use social media to build your photography business, too.

If you think Sarah Petty is high energy and passionate, wait until you see Gary Vee! He saw what Twitter could do for his business before anyone else, jumped on video blogging, and created a marketing revolution using free marking tools to educate wine buyers, understanding that if you provide valueable information to your prospective clients, they will eventually buy from you.

In his book, Crush It, he says the best business tweet of all time is “What can I do for you?” Why? Because you’re in business to serve your community. This reminds you and your customers why you exist. He also describes several uses for Twitter and the other essential social media sites in Crush It and he identifies the best use of Twitter is when you use it to drive people to your blog.

Read the Professional Photographer article here to get Gary Vee’s checklist for building your brand.  And if you haven’t yet, check out his book Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion

It’s a super quick read and will give you no less than 100 new ideas for using social media in your business.
